Maskne is real and I hate it

Wearing a mask 8 hours a day at work (grocery store). My chin and jaw have never been this angry. Breakouts, redness, little bumps everywhere the mask sits.

I'm not stopping the mask, obviously. But what are you all doing?

Cotton masks, and wash them after every single use. I have like 10 now. The disposable ones were really irritating for me.

Skip makeup under the mask. I know, I know. But foundation + mask + 8 hours = disaster.

I stopped wearing foundation in March, there's no one to impress at 7am in the cereal aisle anyway

moisturize before you put the mask on, especially along the edges where it rubs. it makes a little barrier

aw thank you, that means a lot. it's been a really long year

Also if you can, take a 5 minute mask break outside or in the break room and let your skin breathe. Helps with the sweat.

Update: switched to cotton masks, washing them every day, moisturizer before work. Chin is calming down. Still a few spots but nothing like before. Thank you all, I mean it. <3
