The charcoal peel-off mask took half my face with it

I saw the videos. You know the ones. Someone peels off a black mask in one perfect sheet and all their blackheads come out with it.

I bought one. I put it on. I waited 20 minutes. I peeled.

It did not come off in one sheet. It came off in about 80 tiny pieces, along with some eyebrow hairs and what I can only describe as my will to live. Did not see a single blackhead on it. My face is now red and shiny like a tomato.

rule #1 of peel-off masks: nowhere near your eyebrows, your hairline or the little peach fuzz on your face. ask me how I know

Most of those masks are basically glue. Like actual glue. The "blackheads" in the videos are mostly peach fuzz. Your skin isn't missing anything, I promise.

For the redness: cool water, plain moisturizer, nothing with acids or fragrance for a few days. Let it calm down. And maybe pencil in the eyebrow for now lol.

the eyebrow is coming back slowly. my girlfriend called me 'one and a half brows' at dinner and I'm never forgiving her
