My gaming headset is giving me breakouts

This feels like a very specific problem for this forum lol. I get little bumps right where the headset band and the ear cups touch: temples, along my hairline, in front of my ears. Always worse after a raid night.

Anyone else? I'm not giving up raiding, so the headset stays. Help.

YES. Clean the ear cushions! They're full of sweat and oil and they basically never get washed. I wipe mine with an alcohol wipe a couple of times a week now and it helped a lot.

velour cushions instead of the leather(ette) ones. way less sweaty. you can buy replacements for most headsets

Also your hair. If you use a lot of conditioner or hair products, the headset presses all of that onto your skin for 4 hours. My hairline cleared up when I started tying my hair back for raids.

Wash your face after a long session, before bed. Not the morning after. I used to fall asleep right after raiding and wake up with new spots on my temples.

the post-raid face wash. it's hard at 2am but it's worth it

Cleaned the cushions (gross, don't ask), ordered velour ones, tying my hair back. Two weeks later the bumps are mostly gone. My guild thinks it's hilarious that I made a skincare thread about raiding
